Busy meeting for Perseverance Council.

The members of Perseverance Council who meet at Padiham Masonic Hall certainly did have a busy time at their recent12:00 noon meeting.

The summons listed to ballot for two re-joining members Bro Anthony Kenny and Bro Ian Paul, and as both brethren were very well know amongst the members it was suggested that the ballot would be in the hands of the WM Philip Moore who immediately announced the acceptance of the two well know Allied Masons as members of Perseverance Council.

The next item was to ballot for two new candidates, and if successful to elevate both to the degree of St Lawrence the Martyr. Bro Peter Clegg and Bro Martyn Standage. Both of which qualified to join the degree being members of the Holy Royal Arch and the Mark Degree, the ballot was, as expected successful and both brethren admitted to the lodge to receive the degree of St Lawrence the Marty.

WM Philip Moore delivered a first class performance of the ceremony of elevation, which was enjoyed by all the members in attendance and both of the candidates who conducted themselves ably during the ceremony.

At this stage you would expect all of the business to have been concluded, but no. The WM then went on with the Installation ceremony and installed his successor W.Bro Martin Blades PDistGSW into the chair. After appointing all his officers and concluding the rest of the business on the summons it was finally time to close the lodge.

The members and visitors of the council had witnessed a very busy lodge and thoroughly enjoyed the whole meeting.
