Lancastria Council – Installation meeting

Last Friday 35 Allied members experienced a fabulous day of fellowship at the installation meeting of Lancastria Council 154 at Manchester Hall. The lodge was opened by the Worshipful Master, Robert Frankl who conducted the ceremony of installation of his successor, Gerry Young, in a faultless manner. Two members had their Grand Council Certificates explained by the District Grand Prefect, RWBro Graham Newton and the secretary proposed a new member to be admitted at the next meeting.

Local Meeting at Cheshire & North Wales District

The annual meeting of Cheshire & North Wales District is considered a local one for the traveling brethren of East Lancashire. Therefore, it was no surprise we had 10 brethren in attendance at Maesgwyn Masonic Hall in Wrexham.

RW Bro. Graham Newton District Grand Prefect for East Lancashire accompanied by his deputy Trevor Parvin and a number of other brethren made the relatively short journey down the motorway to enjoy the companionship and the annual meeting of one of our close neighbours in the order. Everyone arrived in plenty of time with no hiccups on the motorway reported.

Allied Southern Counties District Meeting – Botley Hampshire.

The District of Southern Counties was constituted in 1997 with the R.W.Bro. Harold Gould as the first District Grand Prefect, and it consisted of 6 Councils. By 2005 the District had 16 Councils and was considered geographically too large to be administered, so by 2007 it was reconstructed into three Districts, Surrey, Sussex and Southern Counties covering Hampshire and Isle of White. Today Southern Counties District consists of 9 Councils including an Installed Masters Council.

Memorable Moments at West Midlands Allied District Meeting

If you remember Tetris the block sorting game, then that was the car park at the recent West Midlands Allied District annual meeting at Burton on Trent. Somehow the Allied brethren had managed brilliantly to cram in an unbelievble number of cars into the most complicated shaped car parking area without a scratch to any vehicle. Very impressive.

Grand High Priest at next HBS Council.

The WM and officers invite you to the next meeting of Herbert Barrington Slater Council No 234 on the 28th February 11:00 am. at Salford Masonic Hall, Hemsley House, Salford.

The Council will open a Convention of the Holy Order of Grand High Priest
to Receive Bros Anthony Smith, Gokhan Gelisen and any other qualified Brethren as Companions of the Order.

Installation at Matier

Matier Council was preceeded by a Royal Ark Mariner meeting of City Manchester RAM No 34, who had the pleasure of the company of W.Bro Mark Davies the Deputy Provincial Grand Master in the Mark Degree at their meeting. You will find there are a couple of Allied meetings throughout the year that are preceeded by a Royal Ark Mariner Lodge.

W.Bro Paul Holt invested as District Inner Guard

Matier Council had a full summons of business for the meeting, including the installation of a new Worshipful Master.

The Deputy Grand Prefect W.Bro Trevor Parvin was welcomed into the Lodge by the brethren and greeted with the usual honors. He then went on to immediately invest the District Inner Guard W.Bro Paul Holt who unfortunatly was unable to attend the Annual District Council meeting in Rochdale last October.

A New Master for Shuttleworth

On Friday 12th September at Middleton Masonic Hall ,The District Grand Secretaries Council, Shuttleworth 50 met and was opened in fine form by WBro Peter Warner (London District) who conducted the business in his own inimitable style.

The Master elect, WBro Graham Bainbridge (Northumberland & Durham) was presented and installed with a flawless ceremony.  Graham then proceeded to appoint and invest his officers of the year.

Meeting The Grand Master in West Yorkshire

Our District Grand Prefect, RWBro Graham Newton visitited Saddleworth Council in Yorkshire District where he met up with our Past Disrtrict Grand Prefect, RWBro Mervyn Wilson, the District Grand Prefect. for Yorkshire RWBro Brian Butterfield and West Lancashire, RWBro Paul Snape and the Grand Master MWBro Thomas Firth Jackson.
