A Candidate, an Installation and District Team Visit

Matier Council ‘B’ TI had a lot to do at its January meeting or rather its Master, Paul Holt did!

Once Paul had opened his council there was a knock at the door, enter the District Director of Ceremonies to announce that RWBro Graham Newton, the head of our order in East Lancashire was waiting out side.

The procession then filed in lead by Graham, his Deputy Mark Davies, both wardens and a galaxy of acting officers. Among them was the Deputy Designate Trevor Parvin who will soon be invested next month.

Another knock on the door indicated that Steve Graham was to be addmitted as a joining member and he was warmly welcomed by the Master Paul.

The members then gained another Brother to the Matier fold when Paul Kavanagh was admitted as a Brother of St Lawrence in a fantastic ceremony by Paul Holt and his officers. The newest member was introduced to Graham Newton who welcomed him to the order.

Paul the Master barely had time to draw his breath as it was now time for an installation ceremony.

Once again Paul delivered a first class ceremony and placed Terry Bailey into the chair as his sucessor.

The District delegation then retired and new Master Terry concluded the council business before closing the council and sharing a relaxing festive board with his members and the visiting District Team.
