Yorkshire District Meeting: Installation of District Grand Prefect

There was a strong turnout for the Yorkshire District Meeting at Castle Grove in Leeds to install W.Bro Clive Copley as the District Grand Prefect for Yorkshire. Over 15 members of East Lancashire made the short motorway trip across the Border to enjoy a wonderful day of Allied Masonry.

M.W. Bro. Thomas F. Jackson the Grand Master was in attendance and conducted the ceremony of Installation before a packed lodge room of 120+ Allied masons. It was a most memorable experience for many. The location at Castle Grove really set the scene with its ornate features and décor. Not sure if it was a purpose build Masonic Hall or some rich land owners home. I’m sure someone can tell us. None the less it was a beautiful location for the event.

The social board was very well attended with the large round tables packed closely together to accommodate all the diners. It was quite a task trying to navigate your way across the dining room, especially for the serving staff balancing plates at the same time. The meal and wine was well received by the brethren who were engaged in meeting new friends and discussion about the whole days events. It was quite a din at some time.

The day ended at a reasonable time in high spirits with the brethren having some fun trying to leave the car park which was packed to the gunnels. I’m sure everyone survived and had a safe journey homewards.
